This was my first meeting with Dr Eisenberg and I was so pleased with how much time he spent with me. He answered all my questions and then some. Dr. Eisenberg is a very knowledgeable and compassionate surgeon. He spent as much time as I needed to review my case and potential outcomes. I feel very reassured about my upcoming surgery. Prior to my appointment with him, a number of medical professionals told me how much I would like him. They were correct.

I don't think anyone enjoys 'chatting' about the future course of a malignancy, but despite that, my half-hour conversation with Dr. Eisenberg was far from unpleasant; in fact, at the conclusion, when he asked if I had any questions, I honestly didn't. His analyses were thorough and understandable, but beyond that, I had a feeling he knew me a little when we were finished. He neither sugarcoated nor threatened, but instead laid out a course of action with other eventualities if needed. I was referred to him by another physician who spoke highly of Dr. Eisenberg. It was an accurate description.

From the first office visit, through 2 surgeries I found Dr. Eisenberg to be a wonderful individual and an outstanding surgeon who takes great care of his patients. He listens and gives appropriate details in his remarks and answers. When I had concerns, he listened and treated me as a person not just a body to operate on. Even when the news is not completely positive, he presents it with kindness and compassion. He has my highest recommendation.

Bio

David Eisenberg, MD, is a surgical oncologist with the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute.

Dr. Eisenberg – whose areas of clinical interest include breast cancer, skin cancer and sarcoma - completed a fellowship in surgical oncology and minimally-invasive gastrointestinal surgical oncology at the University of Pittsburg Medical Center and a second in research at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Board-certified in surgery, he is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Surgical Oncology.

Dr. Eisenberg earned his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine, and completed an internship and a residency in general surgery at Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
