CHH Auxiliary January Artist of the Month Now Showing
January 08, 2020
The Charlotte Hungerford Hospital (CHH) Auxiliary is featuring the artwork of Claudia Lefcheck through early February in the hospital’s main lobby hallway at 540 Litchfield Street in Torrington.
The public is invited to view and buy the works during regular visiting hours as part of the Auxiliary’s ongoing Artist of the Month program. A portion of the proceeds from sales of the artwork support the CHH Auxiliary and Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.
Claudia Lefcheck is a self-taught artist who started painting in her late 40s. She specializes in realistic acrylic painting, often combining realism with magic and wonder, such as giant moons and fairy-sized children placed among flower stems. She is inspired by light, color, and the emotion of an exact moment in time. Claudia often enlarges her own photos for photo-realistic painting.
Claudia has participated in solo and group shows in the area. Private collections of her paintings and prints include locations in California, Europe and South Africa.
Retired from a career in social service, Claudia resides in a log home in Northwest Connecticut. True to her mission of making affordable art, she offers all of her art in limited-edition prints in addition to the original paintings. For more information, click here.
The Auxiliary’s “Artist of the Month” program has been featuring paintings, photographs, and artwork each month from local artists for over 25 years. Their 200-plus member supporters assist in raising money for the hospital through dues, donations, volunteering at the gift shop, and a variety of events including an annual fashion show.
