Charlotte Hungerford Hospital (CHH) has updated its visitor policy, welcoming visitors with expanding hours effective immediately to its main campus at 540 Litchfield St. in Torrington, both on the inpatient floors, ICU and Emergency Department and the Hartford HealthCare HealthCenter Emergency Department at 80 South Main Street in Winsted.
Visitors are allowed in the Hospital’s inpatient areas (floors 4, 5, 6 and ICU) daily seven days a week from noon to 8 p.m. Visitors to the CHH Emergency Department in Torrington are allowed 24/7 and in the Winsted Emergency Department daily 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
For the Maternity Floor 3, one support person is allowed to be present from arrival for birth to transition home.
For COVID-positive patients, special exceptions may be made at the discretion of clinical leadership.
Visitors are currently NOT allowed in the 7th floor Behavioral Health Unit. Limited clinical exceptions may be made per the medical provider.
Please be advised that mask-wearing and social distancing is still in effect on Hospital grounds. For everyone’s continued safety, visitation in some areas and double occupancy rooms will be monitored and adjusted or limited as needed at the discretion of the clinical staff. Visitors may experience brief wait times in the lobby or cafeteria.
All visitors are asked to enter the Hospital through the main entrance weekdays Noon-5pm, and Saturday noon to 3 p.m., and through the Emergency Department weekdays 5-8pm, Saturdays 3-8pm, and Sundays Noon to 8pm.
All visitors will receive a health screening and temperature check. Individuals are asked not to visit the hospital if they are ill or have symptoms of cold or flu. Any visitor/escort who has traveled to one of the CT travel advisory listed states will not be permitted to remain on site.
