Kristoffer Popovitch named Interim Vice President of Operations for the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute

Kristoffer Popovitch RT(R), MBA, has been named Interim Vice President of Operations for the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute (HHCCI).
In this expanded role, Kristoffer will oversee HHCCI growth, integration, physician relations and other important functions, working collaboratively with HHCCI Physician-in-Chief, Dr. Peter Yu. In addition, he will continue to serve as Central Region Director until a permanent replacement is selected.
During his tenure, the Central Region has made vast improvements in physician integration, program enhancements and has been able to successfully align Balanced Scorecard goals with his team’s daily work. Under Kristoffer’s leadership, the new cancer center was built at HOCC in 2015.
Kristoffer joined Hartford HealthCare in November of 2013 as the Central Region director for the Cancer Institute. He graduated from radiology school in 1993 and has been a leader in several disciplines. His experience includes having served as director of occupational medicine, roles in medical imaging as well as serving as administrative director of clinical services.
As the administrative director of the newly constructed cancer center at Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN), he was instrumental in developing the oncology service line. Prior to ECHN, he served as executive director of Northeast Regional Radiation Oncology Network, earning his Masters of Business Administration from Bay Path University in Longmeadow, Mass., and earning the prestigious FIA Best New Business Award.
