New Careers in Nursing Program
Qualified applicants will work at Hartford HealthCare while pursuing a BSN degree through Quinnipiac’s School of Nursing.

The New Careers in Nursing (NCN) Program is designed to welcome qualified applicants to work at Hartford HealthCare (HHC) while pursuing a highly discounted BSN degree through Quinnipiac’s School of Nursing.

Participants will complete the approved and accredited program on a part-time basis over the course of two years in Hartford, while maintaining employment (minimum 24 hours per week) with HHC.

Total Tuition Expense: Less than $10,000 / year after HHC tuition assistance benefit. $5,000 provided to each student in stipends to cover textbook and supply costs.

Start Date: Spring 2026

End Date: Spring 2028

Location: Classes and Labs will take place at Hartford HealthCare’s Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI), 22 Jefferson Street, Hartford. Most Clinical Rotations will take place within the HHC system. Some classes will take place remotely, online.

Admissions Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any subject from a regionally accredited college or university; OR a minimum of 60 transferable credits (associate’s degree or credits towards bachelor’s degree).
  • GPA: Cumulative   GPA of at least 3.0 (B)
  • Completion of prerequisite course work (within the last 8 years with a grade of B- or better):
    • Anatomy & Physiology 1 (4 credits)
    • Anatomy & Physiology 2 (4 credits)
    • Microbiology with lab (4 credits)
    • Statistics (3 credits)
    • Introduction to Psychology (3 credits)
